Pink Gellac The V.i.p. Collection Swatches and Review

Hello Loves!  I have the most recent Pink Gellac Collection to show you today.  The V.i.p. Collection consists of 5 gorgeous pink shades, ranging from a classic cream to a funky glittery finish.  Before we get to the swatches, Pink Gellac did something awesome with this collection.  They changed the brushes!  Yep, the old, stiff brushes have been replaced with a softer, fuller brush with a rounded tip.  And let me tell you, it is fantastic!  I've actually asked Andrea to look into getting replacement brushes for the rest of my Pink Gellac collection.  I love the new brush that much!

Excuse the photo quality - I have my Pink Gellac collection at the salon and forgot to take a bottle home that has the original brush, so this is a cell phone shot taken in my nail room at the Salon.  But here's the old brush (left) and the new brush (right).

Let's get to the swatches, shall we?

First up is my personal favorite of the collection, Lovely Pink.  Lovely pink is a soft, pastel pink with purple undertones and a subtle shimmer.  I found it to be opaque in 2-3 coats.  Why do I say 2-3 instead of just 2 or just 3?  Well...it was opaque in 2 coats on my natural nails, but I needed 3 over the clear gel extension I'm sporting on my middle finger.  ;)

The next color in the collection is what I consider to be a classic pink cream.  Dynamic Pink is a medium to dark pink with a touch of brightness and reddish tones.  In direct light, she is a gorgeous, fun color.  In indirect lighting, she's more of an office appropriate pink.  Application was smooth and she offers full coverage in two coats.

Next up is another classic pink.  Flamingo Pink is a soft, peachy pink with a frosty finish.  To be completely honest, this is my least favorite of the collection.  It is a beautiful color, but I just can't love it.  It reminds me of the polish my Mama wore a lot when I was a kid.  But if you love frosty finishes and peachy toned pinks, this is your kind of color.  I found it to need three coats for full coverage.

Ready to see the less classic and funkier shades in the collection? Partylicious Pink actually surprised me.  In the bottle, she looks much more red toned with a super strong shimmer.  But I found when applying her, she took on a brighter appearance with purplely undertones.  The shimmer is a little off here since my camera decided to be a pain.  It's actually more of a golden toned shimmer.  Application was a breeze with the new brush, but I did end up using three coats for full coverage.

Finally, Sparkling Pink is a red toned pink jelly base that is loaded with metallic pink glitter.  I found this one a little tricky to apply since the glitter is on the larger side and wanted to pull down the nail.  But after three coats, the glitter coverage evened out a bit.  In the end, I really like the effect.

Madam Glam Gel Polish Epic Swatch-a-thon Part 2

Hello Loves!  Are y'all ready to see some more Madam Glam gel polish swatches?  I'm still working my way through them and trying to catch up on blog posts, so here we go:

Name: In Love With You
Description: A shimmery wine/berry shade with a glowy finish
Application/Notes:  Application is nice.  Full coverage in two coats.

Name: Irreplaceable
Description:  A golden base with iridescent, red leaning shimmer that
Application/Notes:  Applies nicely.  Requires 3 coats for opacity.

Name: Just Like Sand
Description: A gorgeous, frosty, neutral polish with grey undertones and a slightly gold leaning flash
Application/Notes: Application is nice but the frost finish is prone to showing brush strokes.  Two coats provided sufficient coverage, but a third, thin coat will help even out the strokes.  I did not apply that third coat here.

Name: Lost in the Woods
Description:  The perfect, crayola green cream
Application/Notes:  Creamy perfection.  Two coat coverage.  Practically applies itself.

Name: Mimosa
Description: A bright, sunny yellow cream
Application/Notes:  Great coverage for a yellow!  Some might see full coverage in two coats.  I needed three due to strong VNL, but this is definitely a yellow winner!

Name: Never Too Late
Description:  A slightly peachy pink leaning nude cream
Application/Notes:  Flawless.  Applies smooth and offers perfect coverage in two coats.  Probably not the best nude for my skin tone, but gorgeous none the less.

Name: Not Only You and Me
Description: An incredible purple base with blue glass fleck shimmer
Application/Notes:  This polish is amazing.  Application was a breeze.  Two coat coverage.  But the effect...I just can't even.  The blue glass flecks give it tons of dimension that my camera couldn't capture.  And direct sunlight...just whoa.

Name: Orange Sunset
Description:  Summery orange base with silver shimmer.
Application/Notes: This is a great summer shade for those who want fun and warm but not super bright.  Application is nice.  Two coat coverage.  The shimmer does want to show brush strokes, but I found them easy enough to eliminate with careful application.

Name: Patrick's Favorite
Description:  A slightly blue leaning green base that is packed with green glitter and silver glass flecks
Application/Notes: This one was a little tricky.  It took three careful coats for even, full coverage.  Please note that my camera threw the color off just a tad.  It is a little more green than it appears on my laptop.

Name: Peachy
Description: The name says it all.  A muted, peach colored cream with slightly pink undertones.
Application/Notes: Smooth application with two coat coverage.  I honestly can't say much more than that...it's a cream.  It's peach.  Its beautiful.  lol

Madam Glam Gel Polish Peachy Swatch

Name: Pharaoh
Description:  A shimmery, metallic, yellow leaning gold
Application/Notes:  Another that is prone to showing brush strokes due to the shimmer, but this is what I consider a true yellow toned gold.  I love the metallic look and the tone.  I did need three coats for a smooth, full coverage finish.
Madam Glam Gel Polish Pharaoh Swatch
Madam Glam Gel Polish Pharaoh Swatch

Name: Quick Silver
Description:  Hello Gorgeous!  This is a white-ish silver gel polish with a glowy finish.  I can't really call it silver.  More like platinum?
Application/Notes:  Application is similar to Pharaoh.  It can show streaks easily due to the frosty metallic finish.  I found that it also shows shadows, so if you don't have a perfectly smooth nail to start with, you might want to add a smoothing gel under it.  But this is the perfect answer when you need a white but don't want white.

Name: Raining Stones
Description:  A gorgeous, muted blue cream with stone grey tones
Application/Notes:  Typical Madam Glam cream application.  Easy-peasy.  Two coat coverage.

Madam Glam Gel Polish Raining Stones Swatch

Name: Raspberry Explosion
Description:  A medium to deep raspberry pink cream
Application/Notes: This one was atypical of Madam Glam creams.  I found that it wanted to pool in the center of the nail, leaving shadows in the center and brighter spots around the edges.  It improves with a third, careful coat.  If you look closely, I think you can see what I mean in the photos.  But the color...so freaking pretty!  It's like a slight pop of excitement without being over the top bright or bold.

Name: Rich Cornell
Description:  Be still my heart!  I love this color so much that I can't stop wearing it and I push it on all of my clients.  This is a blue toned red base that is loaded - and I mean loaded - with golden shimmer.  I'm not a huge gold fan, but this polish changed my mind.  I'm wearing it with gold accent nails and loving every second of it.
Application/Notes:  The shimmer makes it look a little brown toned in photos, but the base is a definite red.  I actually had clients wearing it for Christmas.  Application is great.  There can be a little shrinking on the first coat, but dry brushing the base stops it.  The second coat builds to full coverage.  And the pigments actually behave themselves so brush strokes aren't obvious.  Perfect!

Name: Rich Mambo
Description:  A bright, barbie pink cream with lavender undertones
Application/Notes:  Typical Madam Glam cream.  This is what happens when baby pink and fuchsia collide.  Application is smooth and easy.  Opaque in two coats.
Madam Glam Gel Polish Rich Mambo Swatch
Madam Glam Gel Polish Rich Mambo Swatch

Name: Saturday Love
Description:  a blackened semi-jelly base that is loaded with golden flakies
Application/Notes:  This is probably the most unique polish in this post.  The base isn't really a jelly, but not a cream either.  Without the flakes, it would probably be opaque in 4 coats.  With the flakes, its a 2 coat beauty.  The flakes skip around a little on the first coat, but fill in perfectly with the second.

Name: Sexy and I Know It
Description: A bright, neon orange cream
Application/Notes: Ok, so my picture is WAY off on this one.  But hey, it's a neon...and cameras hate neons.  lol  I'm trying to think of a good color comparison, but my brain is refusing to work today.  The tone is close to that of a traffic cone, but add the neon pop maybe?  Yeah, I'm going with that.  Application is nice.  It does require three coats for full coverage, but I find that is true of most neon polishes.
Madam Glam Gel Polish Sexy and I Know It Swatch
Madam Glam Gel Polish Sexy and I Know It Swatch

Name: Sexy Red
Description:  A shimmery, almost frosty red with orange undertones
Application/Notes:  This one is similar to the other almost frosty shimmers in this post.  It can show brush strokes if you aren't careful, but is otherwise easy enough to apply.  The polish itself is creamy and offers great coverage in two coats.
Madam Glam Gel Polish Sexy Red Swatch
Madam Glam Gel Polish Sexy Red Swatch

Name: Shake Your Grass
Description:  A frosty, shimmer packed, light to medium forest green.
Application/Notes:  Love, love, love this polish!  I can't decide what to call it...forest green?  Olive green?  Army green?  Maybe a little of all three?  The finish is almost metallic.  The shimmer behaves itself nicely without showing a ton of brush strokes.  And it is opaque in two coats.

I'm still working my way through the rest of the swatches...and I busted my external drive during the move so I'm having to re-edit a lot of my photos now.  Boo!  But stay tuned for more Madam Glam swatches soon.  :)
