Pretty Pink Chevron Nail Art

Press Sample Contest Prize Purchased by Me Affiliate Links

Hello Loves.  I finally have another nail art post!  I've been swatching so much lately I haven't had much time for art.  I couldn't decide which color variation of this one I like better, so I'm going to show both :)  As usual, details to follow.

White on Pink

Base Color: Couture Pillow Talk
Stamping Image:  Messy Mansion MM12 - aka The Chevron Plate
Stamping Color: Mundo de Unas White
Topper: One coat of Couture French Affair

Stamping Color: Mundo de Unas Mexican Pink
Topper: One coat of Couture French Affair

Below is the swatch of Couture Gel Nail Polish Pillow Talk.  If you have this color, you may notice it looks completely different here.  Couture recently reformulated it so that it is more pink and less of the milky pinkish white that it was before.  I personally love the new version.  :)

This next swatch is three coats of French Affair.  I was pleasantly surprised to see how well this one works as a topper over stamping.  It adds such a subtle shimmer without overpowering the stamp.  Yet it is gorgeous on its own as well.

So, which do you like better?  The White on Pink or Pink on Pink?  I can't decide!

  1. I love them both! But then again, I'm a huge sucker for pinks

  2. Good job aligning the chevron lines! Mine always end up crooked :)

  3. What is it that your nails are coated with? I know that you have the gel on but what is it that makes the nail so thick? And can you post about how you do them and what you do them with? I love polishing my nails and have 100+ bottles myself but my nails always brake so polishing and designing is hard.

    2. Thank you. I actually don't use anything other than soak off gel and the occasional regular polish. Soak off gel adds a bit of thickness to the nail and a ton of strength. Most of my nail art manis look thick because of the number of layers of gel involved. I usually do art over a swatch, so it can be as many as 7 layers of gel (base gel, 3 color coats, top gel, art, then 2 more layers of top coat to fully seal the art). Both of the manicures above are 7 layers not including the stamp itself. The are 1) Couture base gel 2-4) Couture Pillow Talk 5) Couture top gel plus stamping 6) Couture French Affair 7) Couture Top Gel
