IBD Just Gel: Fancy Fingers, North Wind, Pretty in Pewter and Road toParis

Hello loves.  Now that the holidays are behind us, I'm working through swatching my stash again.  Today I have four of my favorite IBD Just Gel polishes to show you.  These span several releases and are not part of collections to my knowledge, but I love them just the same.

First up is the gorgeous light blue known as Fancy Fingers.  This one has a nice, subtle shimmer with a few iridescent glitter pieces thrown in for good measure.  It is a bit on the sheer side, so I usually wear it over a nude base.  However, for the purpose of showing the true color and consistency, this is 3 coats without undies.

This next little beauty is North Wind.  I love the silver-pink tone and extreme frosty finish.

Pretty in Pewter is one of my all time favorite greys.  The blue undertones and subtle, scattered holo gold shimmer makes this one unique from all the other greys in my collection.  It is a bit sheer on it's own, but layered over nude undies, it is so pretty I hate to even add art on top of it.

The final polish I selected to show you today is Road to Paris.  This one is simply amazing.  I want to call it a wine with a golden shimmer, but in reality it is more of a rose-copper.  It has a slight pink shift depending on the lighting.  Sadly, this one is also a bit sheer and looks best over undies.

What do you think? Will these little beauties make their way into your collection?

  3. Oh wow. Road to Paris is GORGEOUS!!

North Wind is also so pretty! Have you expirenced color fade with IBD Gel light pinks? I wasn't sure if light pink color fade is just a universal problem with gel polish or specific to some *cough*gelish*cough* brands.

    1. I haven't noticed fading with the IBD soft pinks I own. :)

  4. These are all gorgeous colors. I just discoved ibd gel and I want to buy more soon. I just was wondering what nude polish you use as undies? I have a lot of gel polishes that I just find are too sheer and I want to find something to wear under them. How many coats of the undie color do you normally use, and then how many coats of the top color? Thanks :)

    1. All of these are three coats without undies in the pictures. When I wear them, I usually do a white base for the pastel shades and a matching base for the darker shades. I actually haven't found a good undies color for Road to Paris yet, though.

    2. I just bought IBD Mocha Pink, but I haven't tried it yet. However, from the swatches I have seen, it seems to be a very similar color to Road to Paris just without the shimmer. You could try using it as a base. I'm going to try it next time I do my nails. Thanks for these swatches! They are beautiful.

    1. I just realized I only answered half of your question. Sorry about that! I use either Couture Ooh La La french or Ink Glacier as my white undies, so one coat of white and two coats of color. With matching undies, I generally choose one that is more ougmented like thise so I can get away with one coat with two on top :)

  6. Do you have a nude undie you recommend? Also, do you have any fix for water wearing away the tips on Couture? I bought Amethyst Crush from your link, and it was beautiful, and then I bathed my dogs. :(
