Cuccio Colour Veneer Hearts of Fire Collection

Hello Loves!  I have the Cuccio Colour Veneer Hearts of Fire Collection to show you today.  Ok, that's not quite true.  I have the Hearts of Fire Collection plus the Hearts of Fire color that was released around the same time to show you.  The Hearts of Fire Collection consists of 4 glitters, 2 creams, 1 shimmer and 1 frost.

Cuccio is a brand that deserves more love than I have shown it to date.  I swatched a few when I first started Manic Talons, but never got around to adding more.  Long story short, my distributor stopped carrying them and well, out of sight out of mind.  It's a shame!  I do like the formula and the colors are fairly unique.  It wears well for me and removal is average.  I hope to show you more of them in the future.  :)

Yeah, so I recently joined the Cuccio Veneer and Colour Swatch Group on facebook and one of the admins there offered to loan me these to swatch.  I think she wanted to rekindle my love for Cuccio, and she certainly succeeded.  Thanks Angela!  :)  If you would like to join the Cuccio group, you can request through the link above.  Just a quick note, though...in order to keep the spammers out, they don't add new facebook accounts unless the person is known to the admins.  So if you request to join and have been on facebook for less than a year, send me a message so I can alert the admins.  :)

Ready to see some swatches?  Let's start with the creams.  Oh look, my nemesis has returned.  lol  Jakarta Jade is a green leaning teal cream.  This is that one shade that my camera makes me hate to love, but I do love it more than I should!  I don't know why, but this color just screams to me.  Application was dreamy and I found it to be opaque in two coats.

The second cream in the collection is Peace, Love and Purple.  This soft, purple is perfect for spring.  Application was dreamy with this one too though I did feel it needed three coats for flawless coverage.  With that said, I'm wearing clear extensions in these swatches, so two coats might be perfect over natural nails.

Making Waves is the frost of the collection.  She is an insanely beautiful, medium to light blue with a shimmering frosty finish.  While opaque in two, I found that a super thin third coat helped eliminate any brush strokes left behind from the frosty finish.

The true shimmer of the collection is my personal favorite.  Purple Rain in Spain is a dark, midnight purple base with a scattering of silver shimmer.  Not only is it an amazing color, but application was superb and she's opaque in two coats for me!  Oh, and I might have started singing while applying her.  Trust me, you're fortunate this is not a video review.  My belting out "Purple Rain, Puurrr-ple Ra-in" would make your ear drums bleed.  lol

Moving on to the glitters.  First, we have another shade that made me break out into song.  Sing it with me!  "I held my nose.  I closed my eyes.  I took a drink.  I didn't know if it was day or night.  I started kissin' everything in sight.  But when I kissed that cop down at Thirty-Fourth and Vine, He broke my little bottle of Love Potion No. 9."  That was one of my favorite songs as a kid.  Gotta love The Searchers!  (No, it's not from my childhood, but Daddy listened to "oldies" a lot.  If you're not familiar, you can hear it here)  Anyway, back to the polish.  Love Potion No. 9 is a pale pink jelly base with rose gold glitters in various sizes.  No worries, it doesn't smell like turpentine or look like Indian Ink.  lol  I did find the application a little tricky - which is pretty typical for chunky glitters.  I gave it a good shake before applying and found that it needed three coats for this amount of coverage.  It would be gorgeous layered over a base color, though.  :)

Fever of Love is a mix of dark pink metallic glitters in a clear base.  Application was similar to Love Potion No 9.  Great topper for Valentines Day!  And since I'm walking down musical memory lane..."The Fever of Love is like a hundred above.  You are the one that turns me on.  The fever of love is like a hundred above.  I got you under my skin..."  Ok, fine.  I'll stop.  It's another one from before my time - by The Sweet.  God bless my Daddy for introducing me to a range of music.  Look, pretty glitter!

Gala is my favorite of the glitters from the collection.  This beautiful blue/purple (blurple?) jelly base is loaded with multi-sized blue glitters.  I'm not usually a fan of gelly bases, but she's blue!  And perfect in every way!  lol  Application is similar to Love Potion No 9 and Fever of Love.

The final glitter in the collection is one that I don't have to show you in person.  Angela forgot to include it and sent Hearts of Fire instead.  But she did sent me a bottle shot with her swatch stick to show you. Surprise is a gorgeous mix of goldish silver micro glitter and blue flecks.

Finally, I have the ever gorgeous Hearts of Fire to show you.  While not officially part of the Hearts of Fire Collection (I don't think?), it was released around the same time and shares the collection name.  This stunning, glowy burgundy leaves me speechless.  We've seen this shade and finish in several brands recently, but I'm thinking this one might have the glowy competition beat hands down.  Application was nice and I found it to be opaque in two coats.  I really hate to send this one back to Angela.  She's so pretty!

What do you think of the Hearts of Fire collection from Cuccio?  Are any of the shades screaming your name?  And while I'm asking questions, which song do you have stuck in your head now?  Purple Rain by Prince or Love Potion No 9 by The Searchers?  lol

  5. Purple Rain, because that color! AND I live in the land of all things Prince.

Any chance you've got any dupes to it? I live for a nice purple shimmer but am trying to keep a moderate collection. Now please quit laughing at my hilarious notion of a moderate collection.
