Hello Loves. I am speechless. Seriously, I struggle to find the words for this post. You are AMAZING!
In the last edition of The Nail School Chronicle, I shared some of the struggles that I am currently facing that were threatening my ability to complete the Nail Technology program. In short, a combination of sick children and Keith's wreck put me at risk of not being able to reach my dreams. If you missed it, you can read the full story in the second half of this post. I admit, sharing the link to my Go Fund Me page was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Heck, just setting up the page was difficult for me. I was taught growing up that you make your own way in life and never ask for help, so I had a huge chunk of pride to swallow. I shared my story and link with a heart full of fear...fear of judgement...fear of putting myself out there...fear of failure...
I was met with the most incredible response I have experienced in my life. I've been walking around for the past two days in a daze. You came to my rescue. I knew my readers are incredible, but I never imagined anything like this. Bit by bit, you helped me reach my first mini-goal. I can now continue school for another month! Your support has put me one month closer to achieving my dream of becoming a licensed nail tech! Your donations have added up to almost 20% of my total goal! I still have a ways to go, but 20% in just a few days! I can't thank you enough.
You also gave me something I didn't have when I wrote that post last Sunday night. You gave me hope! I went from feeling 95% defeated to 100% determined. I'm going to do this. I'm going to finish this program and get my license. I'm going to go on to become an educator. I'm going to make it because of your support!
As my husband pointed out just last night, this is completely do-able. If just half of you who have enjoyed my posts for the past year are able to donate the cost of one cup of coffee, that graphic up there will be in full color! That's pretty amazing, I think.
I'm working on setting up my destash now, but it's going to take a little bit of time. I have nearly 200 gel polishes to list. I'll announce it here and on my social media pages when it goes live. In the mean time, Marissa (aka @PaintByDigits on Instagram) has generously shared that she will donate the profits from items she has listed in her new Etsy store to help me reach my goal. If you're in the market for cuticle oils or bath bombs, please swing by and check it out!
Another way that you can help is one that has been a part of Manic Talons for almost a year now. I use Amazon Affiliate links in the majority of my posts. Those links earn commissions on purchases from my readers, so when you purchase products I recommend through those links I get a little jingle in my pocket. It isn't much, but every little bit helps! I always try to select the best deals when I build links. :)
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me make this happen! Every donation, large or small, puts me even closer to turning this dream a reality.
